Third edition: three legendary mounain passe, 51 km roads closed to traffic!
For the third Dolomites Bike Day, bike enthusiasts will have the possibility to cycle on 3 legendary mountain passes in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. It will be the perfect opportunity to ride on the pass roads that have made the history of great cycling by freely choosing the path that best suits your preparation. The passes Campolongo, Falzarego and Valparola will be closed to motorized traffic from 9 am to 3 pm. The roads linking the Ladin valleys Val Badia, Livinallongo and Ampezzo will be reserved for cyclists for a total of 51 km.
The Dolomites Bike Day, a non-competitive event, with free access to all cyclists of all levels, is, thanks to the closure of the roads to motorized vehicles, the perfect opportunity to experience the thrill of cycling on the stqages protagonists of the Giro d’Italia and the Maratona dles Dolomites.
We recommend to ride in anti-clockwise direction.
The Sellaronda Bike Day, the bicycle festival around the Sella mountain group, has become one of the biggest sporting events in the Dolomites and Alta Badia.
For that day the passes around the Sella massif are closed to normal traffic and reserved for cyclists.
Participation in the Sellaronda Bike Day is free. Just start your tour in whichever valley you prefer Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa or Arabba/Livinallongo.
There is no limit to the number of participants and everyone can cycle for as long as they like.
Admire the views of the Dolomites, enjoy a break in the mountain villages along the route, ride with your friends: The Sellaronda Bike Day is a group excursion on two wheels.
The tour of about 70 km through the Dolomite mountain passes of Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo has a total elevation gain of 1800 meters.
